Post-vacation Pantoum

***Spoiler Alert!*** All travel must come to an end.
Not trying to be half empty, but let’s face it.
Work at your job. Save your money. Make your travel plans.
Then go on your trip and post selfies on Instagram.
Not trying to be half empty, but let’s face it—
social media has changed the way we travel.
When we go on our trips and post selfies on Instagram,
is it for the likes? Or to troll friends?
Social media has changed the way we travel
#nodoubt But who can say when we do something
for the likes or to troll friends?
The social media post is in the eye of the beholder. 👀
No doubt, everyone can say something
about all the pics, snaps, tweets, and stories—
endless media posts are an eyeful to behold,
but tether a string of fleeting moments.
All the pics, snaps, tweets, and stories
we muster to verify a journey. Suddenly,
the tether tugging during a fleeting moment;
bags that were unpacked must be packed.
We must verify our journeys because suddenly
we are back at work, back to saving, back to making plans.
Bags that are packed must one day be unpacked.
